We are building the New Aviation Museum in the heart of Aviapolis, Vantaa! It will be an inspiring and interactive space for learning, a key attraction in the developing area, a welcoming place for the local community, and a central hub for the aviation industry.
The New Aviation Museum project is moving forward with determination. Planning is being carried out in multidisciplinary teams and inspiring workshops. The tendering process for selecting the construction contractor and designers is also underway. The dream of a modern and experiential aviation museum is now several steps closer to becoming reality.
The project is funded by the state, the City of Vantaa, and private contributors, with a total budget of 25 million euros. Private funding will make it possible to create the exhibitions, provide services, and relocate and preserve the museum’s collections. To achieve this, we aim to raise an additional 5 million euros—so further support is still needed.
In spring 2024, the Finnish Aviation Museum began its journey toward a sustainability certificate. We chose the Good Travel Seal by Green Destinations, a certification that values not only environmental efforts but also social responsibility. The audit took place in June, and the certificate was officially granted on June 2025.

The New Aviation Museum brings together the many facets of aviation under one roof—knowledge, the joy of discovery, and people. Creating a building that embodies all of this through its functions and services requires broad and versatile expertise. The New Aviation Museum project is driven by a team of professionals from a wide range of fields.
The New Aviation Museum is being built with funding from the state, the city, and private sources. The total budget for the project is 25 million euros. Private funding will make it possible to create exhibitions, offer visitor services, and handle the relocation and storage of the museum’s collections. To achieve this, we aim to raise an additional 5 million euros in private support—so there’s still a need to grow the shared funding pot!
