OLD PLANES COME TO LIFE!

Through restoration, we pass on aviation history and valuable cultural heritage to future generations

The restoration of historical aircraft is one of the most classic forms of volunteer work at the Finnish Aviation Museum. The museum’s professionals have guided and instructed the collection work and restoration.

Most of the restoration work has been carried out by various volunteer groups of the museum. The largest of these is the Tuesday Club of the Aviation Museum Association, which mainly consists of retirees. The Wednesday Club, which meets on Wednesday evenings, mainly consists of working-age professionals in the field. Dozens of aircraft on display in the museum have been restored mainly by volunteers.

Note! The collection relocation operation is underway, and therefore the restoration activities will continue only at the New Aviation Museum. Welcome to join then! No prior experience in similar work is required, but we expect a genuine desire to work with your hands.
