Finnish Aviation Museum has a significant amount of volunteers who are involved in doing valuable work for the preservation and documentation of Finland’s aviation history. Museum volunteers annually contribute thousands of hours in restoration, as simulator instructors, with collections, in guiding, and at events. We also invest in the community of volunteers by organizing a joint event for them twice a year.

Wanna be a museum guide?
The praised guides of the Aviation Museum are professionals in their field who have extensive knowledge of aviation history; our tours cover both civil and military aviation, as well as the development of technology.
Volunteer for the actual moving?
Moving the New Aviation Museum from the old location to the new one will be a massive operation that will require a lot of volunteer hands. Photo: The relocation operation of the DC-3 aircraft ‘Lokki’ (OH-LCD) to become a landmark of the museum.
Restoration of old aircrafts, machines or their parts
Our museum exhibition includes several items restored by volunteers, such as the VL Sääski and the Draken control panel.
Want to work as an archive volunteer?
Volunteers are needed for digitizing and cataloging archives to preserve cultural heritage electronically.
Do you want to volunteer as simulator instructor?
Hey, you former pilot captain! Or current one. Come volunteer to introduce our customers to the secrets of flying, especially if you have flight experience with Airbus or Boeing.
