Construction of the new Finnish Aviation Museum begins in April 2026 in Aviapolis, Vantaa. The museum is scheduled to open in late 2027–early 2028 and will feature modern exhibition spaces showcasing the history and future of aviation. The approximately 7,000 m² building will also include event spaces, a café, a museum shop, and flight simulators. The project aims to attract over 100,000 visitors annually.
The project is funded by the state, the City of Vantaa, and private contributors, with a total budget of 25 million euros. Private funding will make it possible to create the exhibitions, provide services, and relocate and preserve the museum’s collections. To achieve this, we aim to raise an additional 5 million euros—so further support is still needed.
Construction of the Vantaa light rail is progressing in the Aviapolis area. Works will begin on Aviabulevardi on 18 May, after which Turbiinitie will serve as the replacement route for vehicle traffic and buses. We apologize for the temporary arrangements and warmly welcome you to the museum! Click here to see more information and the map.
