Ever dreamed of owning a plane? Now you almost can!
The New Aviation Museum’s official fundraising page is now live, featuring a fun new fundraising campaign: adopt a legendary aircraft or artifact from the museum’s collection! One of the first up for adoption is the striking Convair Metropolitan (though it won’t quite fit in your living room).
Adoption is symbolic—collections stay at the museum, and funds go toward building the new museum in Aviapolis, Vantaa. Donors can be acknowledged publicly or remain anonymous.
The website shares details about the museum’s goals, timeline, and how anyone can get involved. The fundraising shop offers one-time donations, gift cards, and quirky items.
Set to open in 2027-2028, the new museum will be a 6,300 m² world-class experience aiming to attract over 100,000 visitors annually. With a total budget of €25 million, the project still needs broad community support to reach cruising altitude.
