Barometer (barograph) / Helsinki-Malmi Airport

50,00

The aneroid barograph, or recording barometer, of the Helsinki-Malmi Airport meteorological aviation weather service. The barometer is housed in a wooden box with glass walls and can be carried by its handle. The evacuated capsules inside the barograph compress when air pressure rises, and when the pressure drops, the metal surfaces are able to expand again. The pressure readings indicated by the movement of the capsules are transferred to a lever, which records the readings onto a registration paper. The registration paper is marked with the date 22.12.2014 0800 LT and stamped with ‘Helsinki-Malmi Airport.’ Manufacturer of the device: R. Fuess Berlin-Steglitz. Helsinki-Malmi Airport, EFHF.
