The Hangar Ghost tray, Sääski

The Hangar Ghost tray brings elegant touch to your table setting!

The illustration on this Finnish birch tray is based on the “Hangaarin kummitus” (The Hangar Ghost) comic book by Iriini Kalliomäki and Kiira Mukka. The book tells the story of Vuokko Knuutila—Finland’s first female pilot—tracing her journey from the moment she first caught the aviation bug to her time in the skies. The tray features an image of Vuokko and the VL Sääski II (K-SASB) aircraft she flew, set against a summery sea landscape.

Made in Finland from domestic birch veneer, the tray is both durable and washable. The dimensions: 43 x 22 cm.

The Hangar Ghost products are available exclusively at the Finnish Aviation Museum’s shop in Vantaa and via the museum’s online stores. Only a limited batch of these unique items has been produced, so be sure to get yours in time!

The trays were printed by Muotoilutoimisto Hartikka in Helsinki and carry the Key Flag symbol, certifying them as Finnish-made products.
