The new home hangar of aviation history
“The history of aviation is the history of the Aviation Association. The Aviation Museum is like an important display case or family album for the Aviation Association. Over time, the collection grows, but not everything old is thrown away. Things are reorganized and improved. Perhaps a more functional display case or a larger album is acquired.
Collecting and maintaining aviation history, as well as promoting aviation by making aviation history known, has always been important to the Aviation Association. The Aviation Association’s timeline begins in 1919. Already in the early 1930s, we were concerned that there was no aviation museum in Finland. Even in the 2020s, we are involved in the administration of the Aviation Museum, defending the museum’s role in society.
The history of aviation is also the history of Finns. That is why the new aviation museum is important to all of us. All of us—individuals, companies, communities—now have the opportunity to experience the excitement of aviation and contribute to the creation of the best possible new aviation museum in Vantaa. Vantaa, as Finland’s aviation city, is the perfect place for an aviation museum.
We hope that the new aviation museum will become a new home for the Finnish Aviation Association and many other aviation-related organizations. The new Aviation Museum – aviation’s new home hangar, where you can learn, experience, enjoy, and hang out.

The Aviation Museum as Vantaa's New Attraction
Vantaa has high expectations for the new aviation museum. We believe it will become a nationally and internationally interesting experience center. Vantaa and the metropolitan area will gain a new attraction.
The new aviation museum is a uniquely interesting partner. The city of Vantaa is working closely with the Finnish Aviation Museum Foundation in the museum’s renovation work.
The location of the new museum is excellent. Over a million people live in the surrounding area. Transportation connections are great, and in the coming years, Vantaa’s new tram will bring visitors directly to the museum’s doorstep.
The incredible story of Finnish aviation deserves an incredible museum.
